Have dental questions? Here’s a few answers.
At QV Dental, we understand that navigating dental care can sometimes take longer than a visit itself, which is why we’ve always tried to make things as easy as possible. To help, see below a few of our most common FAQs – or simply get in touch to talk to our team.
Do you take private health insurance?
Yes, we do. We are a preferred provider of both BUPA and HCF, which means (depending on your cover) no gap check-ups, cleans, radiographs, fissure seals and some mouthguards. If you are a member of another health fund, however, you may still be entitled to some benefits. To find out, check your policy or get in touch with us and we can help you find out.
How quickly can I see a dentist?
As soon as today! We welcome walk-ins however do recommend calling ahead to our clinic on 03 9654 2755 or booking online to check capacity and ensure the right team members are there for your needs. If we can’t see you today, we strive to book you in as soon as we can so simply get in touch, and we’ll handle the rest.
How can I maintain good oral hygiene between dental visits?
Regular brushing and flossing are essentials here. Aim to brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste and floss at least once daily. Additionally, visiting your dentist (us!) for routine cleanings and check-ups every six months (depending on your oral health condition) is also key to ensure optimal oral health.
Can I straighten my teeth without traditional braces?
Yes, solutions such as Invisalign offer a discreet and convenient alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign uses clear aligners to gradually straighten teeth, making it a popular choice for adults and teens seeking orthodontic treatment without the visibility of metal braces.
What is the process for getting dental implants?
Dental implants involve several stages, including consultation, implant placement, healing period, and attachment of the prosthetic teeth. During the initial consultation, our dentist will assess your suitability for implants and develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs to then paint a clear path forward for you and your best smile.
