What is the success rate of an Implant?

Once an implant has integrated it is very difficult to reverse the process. It would take accidental trauma to damage it. People who grind their teeth at night can in extreme cases damage their implant. However implant design and night guards worn by patient will counteract this. Once you have been deemed a suitable candidate for implants, then long term success rate (ie 15 years) is in the high 90%.

What is the length of treatment?

From Implant placement to fitting of crown is about 8 weeks, longer if there is not enough bone and the site needs to be augmented.

Is there pain or discomfort?

Many patients report implant surgery to be much less troublesome than they expected. With modern anaesthesia and close attention to post operative care you can expect minimal discomfort.

How much does Implant treatment cost?

Implant treatment today offers you to have teeth that look, feel and function like your own. Is Bleaching Safe?

Yes if we thought it wasn’t or research showed otherwise, we will no longer offer the service.

How long does it last?

Bleaching is essentially permanent. But as we cannot account for vary consumption of tea, coffee, red wine tobacco and other factors; the result may need to be touched up. This is affordable and can be purchased at reception. $15 – $20 per touch-up syringes.

Those who choose to maintain a really bright dentition do so by brightening once a year and purchase gel at the next check up appointment.

I have infected wisdom teeth

Firstly we make sure we get you comfortable, this may involve some-thing topical, or a prescription. Rarely do we need to remove a tooth there and then. We will refer you for a specialized x-ray and book a time with a consultant who comes to our practice on a regular basis and will discuss options, costs etc.

I have a wobbly tooth

Once we have decided why the tooth is loose, we try to stabilize the situation. If the tooth is not saveable, we discuss replacement options (ie implants) with you.

I have bad breath

There are many causes for this ranging from a simple gum infection to sinusitis to more serious systemic causes. We identify the cause and treat the symptoms this way, sometimes by cleaning your teeth or recommending specialized products for you to use.

I have bleeding gums

This is usually one of the signs of gum disease, usually a decent scale and clean of your teeth, and a little coaching will teach you how to prevent this from happening again.

I have sensitive teeth

Provided it is not a more involved problem such as decay or a cracked tooth, Sensodyne will usually diminish the symptoms together with some other hints we can give you.

I have crooked teeth

There are many ways to straighten teeth, regular orthodontics or invisalign are both offered at our practice.

I knocked my toot

This can range from knocking your tooth right out of your mouth to just chipping it, or just knocking it. We take an x-ray and perform some tests to see which treatment is best.

I have yellow teeth

We have provided whitening procedures for about 15 years now and have limited our repertoire to one take-home whitening system that we feel is the best available, see tooth brightening.

Do you take private health insurance?

Yes, we do. We are a preferred provider of both BUPA and HCF, which means (depending on your cover) no gap check-ups, cleans, radiographs, fissure seals and some mouthguards. If you are a member of another health fund, however, you may still be entitled to some benefits. To find out, check your policy or get in touch with us and we can help you find out.

How quickly can I see a dentist?

As soon as today! We welcome walk-ins however do recommend calling ahead to our clinic on 03 9654 2755 or booking online to check capacity and ensure the right team members are there for your needs. If we can’t see you today, we strive to book you in as soon as we can so simply get in touch, and we’ll handle the rest.

How can I maintain good oral hygiene between dental visits?

Regular brushing and flossing are essentials here. Aim to brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste and floss at least once daily. Additionally, visiting your dentist (us!) for routine cleanings and check-ups every six months (depending on your oral health condition) is also key to ensure optimal oral health.

Can I straighten my teeth without traditional braces?

Yes, solutions such as Invisalign offer a discreet and convenient alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign uses clear aligners to gradually straighten teeth, making it a popular choice for adults and teens seeking orthodontic treatment without the visibility of metal braces.
