Invisalign, Inman Aligner and Orthodontics

Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner is a fast acting orthodontic system that can realign crooked or misaligned teeth in up to 4 months. There are some limitations to the results that can be achieved with the aligner and it only works on upper and lower front teeth.

The Inman Aligner is a simple removable device that is placed over misshaped teeth, similar to a mouthguard. There are “bows” at the front of the aligner which apply pressure to the front teeth. This pressure is generated by coiled springs which are found towards the middle and back of the aligner. The gentle pressure has been proved to straighten front teeth. The process varies but should take between 4 - 6 Months.

Orthodontics basically means "straight teeth". It is the branch of dentistry which improves appearance, health and function of patient's teeth and jaw relationship.

Orthodontic treatment can be provided by means of active removable appliances including functional appliances and by fixed appliances "braces". The best treatment option depends on the result of patient's examination, X-rays and study models analysis. The treatment is available in early stages for children and teenagers, but it is also successful for adults.

"Braces" are the most efficient and accurate way of moving teeth, they consist of bands, brackets and wires. The brackets can be stainless steel, but for a more aesthetic look the porcelain bracket is available. The full course of orthodontic treatment with braces is between 18 & 24 months, but there are variations in duration depending on the individual case.

At the completion of active orthodontic treatment the retaining appliances "retainers" are fitted to hold teeth steadily in their new position.

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of custom-made nearly undetectable aligners.

Invisalign is fully removable and does not involve metal wires or brackets, which make eating, brushing and flossing no problem. You can still enjoy your favourite foods and smile without holding back.

At your first consultation appointment, the dentist will take study models, x-rays and photo’s from which they will be able to assess if you are compatible for invisalign treatment. From this assessment we will forward you a treatment plan detailing your treatment, cost and future appointments.

From your acceptance of our treatment plan, we will need to take impressions which will then be submitted to Invisalign along with your photo’s and x-rays.
Using the latest 3D computer technology they will produce your own customized aligners. You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, moving your teeth gradually, and you need to visit us every four weeks.
